BARTLETT — Debra “Kay” Brown, 37, of Bartlett died at 11:15 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at her home.

She was born on Dec. 6, 1975, in Coffeyville to Cecil D. and Shirley (Brown) Kimrey. As a young girl, she grew up in Edna, where she attended Edna Grade School and was a 1994 graduate of Labette County High School in Altamont.

She attended Johnson County Community College for a year and earned an associate of science degree at Fort Scott Community College, an associate of science degree at NEO A&M College in Miami, Okla., and a bachelor of science degree at Pittsburg State University.

She worked as a laboratory technician at Cytocheck Laboratory and Labette Health, both in Parsons.

Survivors include her husband, David Brown of the home; a daughter, Sienna Brown of the home; her mother, Shirley Kimrey of Edna; a brother, Darrell Kimrey of Ochelata, Okla.; and two sisters, Carla Collins of Coffeyville and Diana Blaylock of Fairland, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Kimrey, on April 28, 2008.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bartlett Christian Church. Burial will be in Edna Elm Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons is in charge of arrangements.
