He was born on Sept. 28, 1962, in Arlington, Texas, to Elbert L. and Lucinda M. (Wort) Harris. At the age of 5, he moved with his family to Parsons, where he grew up and attended Meadow View Grade School and was a graduate of Labette County High School in Altamont.
Following high school, he attended Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa, where he received his pilot’s license He then continued his education at the University of Kansas and Labette Community College. At the age of 26, Danny was injured in an automobile accident.
He was raised in the Southern Baptist Church and was a member of Tri-State Faith Center in Parsons. He enjoyed flying and sports and was an avid KU Jayhawk fan.
Survivors include a brother, Shane Harris of Bellevue, Neb.; and two sisters, Brenda Cook of Pittsburg and Jina Bienz of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in McCune Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
