She was born Nov. 12, 1938, at Sikeston, Mo., to Everett William and Mary (Hobbs) Whittley. At an early age, her family moved to Parsons, where she attended school. She was a certified nurse’s aide and worked in home health care. She was currently retired.
On Aug. 17, 1983, she married Charles A. Gamblian Jr. at Parsons. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2005.
She was Catholic and was a member of Gene Day Ministries at Parsons.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Valverde and Ron Valverde, both of Parsons; two daughters, Pam Goodell and her husband, Don, of Omaha, Neb., and Mary Vosler and her husband, Larry, of Omaha, Neb.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Dingus; and four brothers, Gilbert Whittley, Mac Whittley, Donald Hodges and Earl Whittley.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Valverde; and a daughter, Patricia Valverde.
The service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastor Gene G. Day officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
