OSAGE CITY — Leiann E. French, 56, of Osage City died Friday, April 9, 2010, at her home.

She was born Aug. 27, 1953, at Emporia to Jack H. and Shirley J. (Holt) French. She graduated from Osage City High School in 1971. She moved to Wisconsin in 1976 where she was a successful business owner of Leiann’s Hair Styling Salon. She returned to Osage City in 1999 and worked as a hair stylist, massage therapist and health care provider.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osage City.

Survivors include a sister, Danea Jones of Leavenworth; an uncle, Dick French and his wife, Judy, of Parsons; a nephew, Kyle Jones; five cousins, Kris, Terry, Jay, David and Dan French; a god daughter, Harmony Peddy of Picayune, Miss.; and a grandson, Austin Peddy of Picayune, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Shirley “Dusty” French; and grandparents, Lyman and Esther French and Frank and Harriet Holt.

A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Osage City. Inurnment was at Osage City Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice and may be sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, 66523.
