CHETOPA — Karen M. Rogers, 57, of Chetopa died at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at her home. She had been in failing health.

She was born Oct. 19, 1952, in Kansas City, Mo., to Theodore October and Minnie May (McCalister) Gulley. As a child, she was raised in a military family and lived in various locations throughout the U.S.

On June 4, 1979, she married Bruce Rogers in Tulsa. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her mother, Minnie Akers of Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Vincent Bruce Rogers of Chetopa and Ronnie Clay Swims of Tulsa; a daughter, Ronita Lea Johnson of Chetopa; a stepson, Randall Gene Rogers of Tulsa; four grandchildren; a half brother, Michael Shane Gulley of Kansas City, Mo.; and a half sister, Tracey Callahand of Kansas City, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Gulley; and a daughter, Christina Kay Gulley.

The service will be at 2 p.m. today at Faith Baptist Church in Chetopa. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa is in charge of arrangements.
