Shirley J. Swayze, 65, a lifelong Parsons resident, died at 10:44 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010, at her home. She had been in failing health the past several years.

She was born March 24, 1945, in Parsons to Joe and Ruby (Ward) Winters. She attended Parsons schools and was employed for 25 years by Grandview Products Co.

On Aug. 29, 1986, she married Harold Swayze, in Miami, Okla. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sisters, Judy Shears, Linda Blake, both of Parsons, and Nancy Varner of Labette City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery. In the event of rain the service will be moved to the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
