OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Harold E. Karry, 76, of Oklahoma City, Okla., went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 28, 2010.

He was born in Neosho County on the family farm on June 24, 1934, to Pauline (Durham) and John P. Karry.

He married his high school sweetheart, K. Nadine Beckwith, on May 29, 1953, at First Methodist Church of Parsons.

Harold was a 27-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as a jet engine mechanic in Okinawa, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand. After retirement from the Air Force in 1980, Harold continued his career in the Oklahoma vo-tech system, where he used his expertise teaching jet engine repair until 1995.

Harold was an avid fisherman and gardener and passed those loves on to his family. In preparing for retirement, Harold stated, “God doesn’t deduct fishing and naps from your lifespan.”

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathryn Nadine Karry; as well as four children, Robert Karry and his wife, Nancy, of Oklahoma City, Della Murray and her husband, David, of Sacramento, Calif., Patrick Karry and his wife, Cathy, of Edmond, Okla., and Michael Karry and his wife, Angela, of Choctaw, Okla.; six grandchildren, Christine Allen, Nicole Allen, Matthew Karry, Scott Karry, Bradley Karry and Joseph Karry; a great-grandchild, Skylar King; a brother, Johnnie Karry of Parsons; and a sister, Wanda Heck of Parsons.

Harold was preceded in death by two children, an infant daughter, Rhonda Lee, and infant son, John Oliver; a brother, Lloyd Karry; his mother, Pauline Durham Karry; his father, John P. Karry; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Karry.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sunnylane United Methodist Church with interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
