WEBB CITY, Mo. — Jesse A. Phillips, 84, of Webb City, Mo., died at 12:20 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin.

He was born May 23, 1926, at St. Paul to Johnny Leroy and Ruby (Uhler) Phillips. He was raised in St. Paul and attended school there.

On Dec. 26, 1949, he married Mary Norton in Erie.

He was employed with Altamont USD 506.

Survivors include his wife, Mary K. Phillips of Webb City; three sons, Darrell G. Phillips of Plattville, Colo., Johnny J. Phillips of Mound Valley and Jerry A. Phillips of Carl Junction, Mo.; two daughters, Alberta McDougal of Fredericksburg, Va., and Marsha Phillips of Carl Junction, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Phillips of St. Paul.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Harold Lee Norton.

The graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hope Cemetery at St. Paul. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Carson-Wall Funeral Home at St. Paul.
