The Parsons Area Community Foundation’s annual Match Day on Giving Tuesday this month raised $200,036.85.
Giving Tuesday is a global event that impacts the community through the PACF, which is the local avenue through which people can make tax-deductible donations to endowed funds the PACF manages for organizations.
Becky Dantic, PACF executive director, said Match Day saw 622 gifts from 186 donors.
Last year, Match Day brought in $183,223.88 from 580 gifts.
Dantic said PACF will award $9,100 in incentives and prizes and added its $40,000 match that pushed the total collected to
$249,136.85.
“We live in a pretty amazing community,” Dantic said in an email to the Sun. She said 29 funds participated in this year’s event. The $40,000 match pool will be divided proportionately among these organizations as well as the $9,100 in incentives and prizes.
