Manor will celebrate 50 years of service

Parsons Presbyterian Manor is celebrating 50 years in operation this year.

Since 1974, Parsons Presbyterian Manor has been the home of older adults who entrusted their care to the Manor.

“It’s clear we have something special in our community,” said Crystal Packard, executive director. “Looking back through the decades, we’re grateful to our residents and their families for the trust they have put in us.”

A community concert and celebration will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Manor, 3501 Dirr.

Musical guests will be Rachel Gober and Will Daniels – For God’s Glory, Allen and Charlie and Dustin Treiber. The celebration is a family event with food available for purchase, snow cones, a bounce house, photo booth and games.

To RSVP, contact Natae Nash, senior living sales specialist, at 620-421-1450 or [email protected] by Monday.

A lot has changed in 50 years at the manor. In 2022, the community completed a $1.2 million renovation that upgraded residential rooms with new heating and air conditioning units, new floor coverings through the community, new artwork and a fresh coat of paint.

The health care dining room also received an overhaul allowing chefs to cook on-site.

“While we’ve seen a lot of changes over the decades, one thing has remained constant,” said Packard. “Our commitment to our mission to provide quality senior services guided by Christian values.”
