Parsons man injured in motorcycle accident

A Parsons man received possible serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on Sunday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Charlie R. Basoco, 25, Parsons, was injured and taken to Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

The accident happened at 12:02 p.m. Sunday at 23000 and Queens Road, the KHP report said. 

Basoco was driving a 2013 Kawasaki ZX636 at a high rate of speed westbound on 23000 Road, the KHP report said. The motorcycle struck a 2009 Chevrolet truck driven by Bennie W. Byrd, 68, Parsons, in the passenger side as Byrd was eastbound on 23000 Road and turning left into a private residence.

Byrd wore a seat belt and had no apparent injury. Basoco was wearing a helmet, the report said.
