A sports utility vehicle crashed into a house early Sunday and the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. No injuries were reported in the home.
At 2:55 a.m. Sunday, Parsons police responded to a crash involving a motor vehicle and a residence in the 300 block of North 32nd Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a 2020 Toyota Highlander that had collided with the house, according to a release from Parsons police. The vehicle was unoccupied, and witnesses provided offi cers with a description of the driver. There were no injuries to the occupants of the residence.
At 3:05 a.m. Sunday, Officer Sean McCullough located a person running from the area of the crash near 29th and Chess streets. The individual matched the description provided by witnesses and was identified as Gavin Bolte, 22, Parsons.
Bolte attempted to resist detention but was safely taken into custody without injury to himself or officers.
Further investigation determined that Bolte was suspected of operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol at over twice the legal limit. Officers also found additional violations related to the crash and vehicle operation. Bolte was arrested and is facing the following charges: Driving under the influence; interference with law enforcement; no vehicle liability insurance/proof; expired vehicle registration; failure to report an accident; leaving the scene of an accident; duty to give information at an accident; inattentive driving.
