COLLINSVILLE, Okla. — Rose Darlene Hentzen, 89, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, after succumbing to injuries suffered in a fall.
Rose was born Sept. 16, 1934, at Urbana, Missouri, to Bill and Mary (Jeffery) Campbell. She married Billy Joe Hentzen on Dec. 21, 1952, at Yuma, Arizona. She lived most of her life in the four-state area except for two years when she and Billy lived in San Diego, California, while he served in the United States Navy.
After his honorable discharge, they returned to his hometown of Parsons and raised three children. She was employed by Parsons Presbyterian Manor and the Snack ‘n Shoppe. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and quilt making and was a 30-year member of the Quilter’s Guild of Parsons and the Little Balkans Quilt Guild of Pittsburg.
She is survived by her son, Brad Hentzen and his wife, Margie, of Owasso, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tina Russell of Parsons, Brandon Hentzen (Jami) of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Andrew Hentzen of Independence, Emma (Cory) Chapman of Independence and Ellie Hentzen of Arkansas City; a daughter-in-law, Kari Hentzen of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; a brother, Sonny Jeffrey of Boise, Idaho; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Joe Hentzen; daughter, Debra Watkins (Charlie); son, Brent Hentzen; grandsons, Ken Russell, Dustin Watkins; brothers, Bill Beatie, Gail Jeffrey, Ralph Jeffrey; and sisters, Lela Jeffrey, Ruth Davis, Lila Leipard and Eileen Zucker.
A graveside memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in Oakwood Cemetery at Parsons. Burial will follow.
