OSWEGO — End of year transfers took up most of the Labette County Commission meeting on Monday.
Sandy Krider, Public Works director, and Sheriff Darren Eichinger each had transfers
Krider asked to transfer $104,979.17 to the special bridge reserve fund, which would bring that balance to $1,038,717.92. She also wanted to transfer $100,000 each to the special machinery fund and the special highway fund. The transfers would bring those fund balances to $607,384.44 and $301,396.32, respectively.
Even with the fund transfers, Krider told commissioners that her cash carryover for 2025 will be $950,000.
The 2025 budget required a cash carryover of $324,279 and the department had $1,255,905.38 left.
Eichinger wanted to transfer $178,079.48 to a special vehicle fund to pay down the purchase of new patrol trucks, which commissioners approved. He also wanted to transfer any remaining balance between his and the jail budget to that transaction to save interest and payments in 2025. This move will require additional information from the county’s auditor.
