Wednesday, Sept. 11, the Kansas Department of Transportation expects to start resurfacing work on U.S. 400 in Wilson County. The 10-mile project extends southeast from K-47 at Fredonia to U.S. 75 at Neodesha.
Project activity includes placing ultra-thin asphalt surfacing on the mainline and chip-sealing the shoulders. Flaggers and a pilot car will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone during daylight hours; expect delays of 15 minutes or less. Weather permitting, the work should be finished by early October.
KDOT awarded the $1.6 million construction contract to Pearson Construction LLC, Wichita.
