Authorities say a pickup truck being pursued by law enforcement crashed, leaving the driver with serious injuries Thursday evening.
The crash happened at around 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, on U.S. 400 a few miles east of Parsons. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a westbound 1970 Chevy pickup went off the highway to the north, through a barbed wire fence and a metal gate. The pickup continued west across Scott Road, hit the gate of a business and continued into the parking lot where it hit a parked vehicle and overturned onto its driver’s side.
The driver, 50-year-old Randy Jackson of Waco, Missouri, was taken to a hospital in Joplin for treatment. No one else was hurt.
