OSAWATOMIE — Swimming in Osawatomie last Wednesday, the Parsons Vikings boys finished in fifth place out of five competing teams.
Osawatomie won first place as a team with 578 points, followed by Independence (472), Fort Scott (376), Bonner Springs (94) and Parsons (38).
In the 50-yard freestyle, Parsons’ Griffin Westervelt finished fourth with a time of 26.94 seconds. Kayshawn Johnson was 11th with a time of 34.40 seconds.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Westervelt finished seventh (1:05.83) while Johnson placed 12th (1:24.69).
