Claude Franklin Pierce

ST. PAUL — Claude Franklin Pierce, 74, of St Paul died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, in the comforts of his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Eureka to Dayton D. and Emma June (McDaniels) Pierce, but became a lifelong resident of St. Paul. He never married but loved his three roommates, his work and had several hobbies. Service was very important to him, and he found pleasure and peace in delivering newspapers, janitorial services and helping in workshops. You would often catch him cruising in the car with no particular place to go. He had a great sense of humor and was easily entertained when others would sing out loud in their cars.

Claude was a proud supporter and participant of the Special Olympics. One of his favorite genres to watch on TV was old westerns. So when he could, he would thoroughly enjoy watching cows up close. He never left behind his hat, gloves and coat, as he would easily get too cold. But held most near and dear to him was his Bible; he may not have been able to read it, but it comforted him to have it everywhere he went.

He is survived by many ResCare family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Olivia Frazier.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons. Memorials are suggested to Special Olympics and may be sent in care of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS, 67357.
