The Oswego USD 504 archery teams traveled to Carl Junction, Missouri, last weekend for the fourth tournament of the season.
One of the middle school teams participating was the national champion last year. Locust Grove, Oklahoma, has won the last two national championships.
Oswego did well on Saturday and the middle school team scored higher than other middle school teams at Oswego, according to coach Neal Cruse. The middle school 3D earned 1,575 points.
“We are getting closer to 3,200 each day. Would be a great accomplishment if we could shoot over 3,200 by the end of the year. The elementary score of 2,608 ranks in the top five scores our elementary team has ever shot. The hope is we can inch closer to 3,000 and hopefully shoot over 3,000 for the elementary team by the end of the year,” Cruse said. “We are seeing a tremendous amount of improvement in the middle school and elementary teams.”
