Coin appraisal rescheduled

The Parsons Coin Club has rescheduled the January public appraisal event to Friday, Feb. 14, at Labette Bank, 2121 Main St. Members of the local hobby club will offer coin appraisals to the public beginning at 3 p.m. and continuing until 4:30 p.m. They will assist in identifying and evaluating their accumulations of old coins, currency and related items. This is a make-up date due to the snow earlier this month.

The club canceled the Jan. 10 appraisal because of the winter storm. “We try to offer this opportunity free of charge a few times a year as an outreach service for the club. We are grateful to Labette Bank for hosting us in such a nice venue,” said Dave Sorrick, long-time member of the local club.

The Parsons Coin Club meets on the third Thursday evening of each month at the Parsons Senior Center, 1800 Belmont.

Area coin collectors are invited to attend. For more information, drop by the event at Labette Bank or contact Dave Sorrick at 620-423-6600.
