Shawn A. Sexton, 24, of Parsons passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at Labette Health in Parsons.
Shawn Austin Sexton was born on Aug. 28, 2000, to Stephen E. and Tricia L. (Adams) Sexton in Parsons. He grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from Labette County High School in 2018. In August, Shawn began working at Power Flame, where he was currently employed.
Growing up, Shawn attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons.
An attentive father and partner, Shawn loved his family. He was a hard worker who would do anything for his son and his family. Shawn was dearly loved by his family and was especially close with his mother. He enjoyed using his creative, artistic talents to draw. An adventurous spirit, Shawn enjoyed exploring and taking trips.
Survivors include his son, Spencer Sexton of Parsons; his companion, Sierra Conner of Parsons; his mother, Tricia Sexton (James Burke) of Galesburg; his father, Stephen Sexton of Parsons; two brothers, Justin Sexton of Overland Park and Dante Sexton of Parsons.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Zach Burke, on July 1, 2016.
The service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. The family will receive friends the hour before the service. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
