Steven Dean Cochran, 70, of Parsons passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
The son of Ernest W. and Marie N. (Scott) Cochran, Steven was born June 9, 1954, in Parsons.
In 1966, the family moved from Parsons to Topeka, where he attended Eisenhower Junior High and Highland Park High School.
At 17, Steven joined the United States Navy, proudly serving his country in Alaska. Following his military service, he traveled the Midwest for several years with a carnival circuit running midway games. He eventually settled in Dallas, Texas, working for ApartmentMovers as a manager. In his last 15 years before retiring, he worked for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which once again allowed him to travel throughout the US.
Steven enjoyed spending time with friends and visiting the casino in his free time. His love for adventure was evident throughout his life.
He is survived by his brother, Phillip Cochran (Melissa) of Dayton, Nevada; his sister, Donna Theis (Jamie) of Bolivar, Missouri; niece, Tabitha Manning (Dan) of Austin, Texas; and two great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka. Private inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.
