Ron K. McClenning, 73, of Parsons passed away at 5:16 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, at his home in Parsons.
He was born on April 28, 1951, in Oswego to James Benjamin and Grace Mae (Stringer) McClenning. Ron grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons and Labette County schools.
Ron worked for Parsons Tree Service, Bushog in Galesburg and Peabody TecTank/ CST Storage as a welder until his retirement.
Ron was an excellent welder who took pride in his work and would help family and friends with his welding skills. He enjoyed working on ATVs and driving dune buggies. Ron cherished his family and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Ron married Cheryl Ann Shouse on Dec. 26, 1976, at St. Paul. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his son, Ronnie McClenning (Decima) of Parsons; two daughters, Shannon Wiseman of Austin, Texas, and Dana Casper and her husband, Heath, of Parsons; his grandchildren, Allisyn Casper, Talon Casper, Brayden Casper, Bryleigh Casper, Hayden McClenning, Keaton McClenning, Savannah Hinman and Calleigh McClenning; his sister, Bonnie McClenning of Parsons; his sister- in-law, Sandy McClenning of Parsons; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Marion McClenning.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the McCune Cemetery Patio with Richard Shouse officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. The family requests casual dress for the visitation and service.
