
OLATHE — Cynthia Sue Johnson, 77, formerly of Erie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, in Olathe.
Cynthia was born June 8, 1947, the second of four children to Eddie and Gladys Hill. She lived most of her life in Erie and graduated from Erie High School. On June 12, 1965, she married James Howard Lucke, who preceded her in death on April 8, 2014. Cynthia was loved by all who knew her and she had a zest for life that was unmatched.
Cynthia loved gardening, quilting, fishing and embroidering, but above all else, she cherished spending time with her grandkids.
She is survived by two daughters, Tracy Littlejohn of Overland Park and Debra Lucke Beachner and her husband, Tom, of Olathe; four grandchildren, Zakary Zimmerman, Overland Park, Phoebe Beachner, New York, New York, Isaac Littlejohn of Overland Park and Gretchen Boedicker and her husband, Blake, of Springhill; a great-grandson, James Meredith Boedicker; a sister, Marconia Goff and her husband, Jerry, of Shawnee; and various cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cynthia was preceded in death by a son, James Howard Lucke Jr.; her parents, Eddie and Gladys Hill; and two siblings, Susan Ann (Hill) Showalter and Roger Edward Hill.
The service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at the Neosho Valley Event Space, 321 N. Wood, Erie, 66733. Lunch will immediately follow.
