Lake board to meet
The Parsons Lake Advisory Board will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Parsons Arboretum. This is a public meeting.

Below are the events for next week at the Parsons Public Library.
MONDAY: Library is closed for Presidents Day.
TUESDAY: 10 a.m., sensory hour for ages birth to 3; 4 p.m., Anime Club for ages 10 to 18.
WEDNESDAY: 10 a.m., story hour for ages 2 to 6; 4 p.m., afternoon story hour for ages 2 to 6; 6:30 p.m., 10 Things I hate About You trivia at Cherry On Top.
THURSDAY: 1 p.m., coloring group for adults and teens; 4 p.m., Minecraft Club for teens.
FRIDAY, Feb. 21: 3 p.m., bingo for those age 18 and older; 4 p.m., Switch free play for teens.
Auditions for ‘Hillbilly Heaven’
Auditions for a summer production of “Hillbilly Heaven Halsey Edition” will be held in Parsons and Independence next month.
The musical will be performed in Independence in the summer.
Auditions will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Parsons High School auditorium and at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Independence Community College West, 2615 W. Main, Independence.
The production is seeking singers who can sing in the style of artists from Roy Clark to Jody Miller. Performers must be 16 years old.

Parsons Livestock Auction
On Wednesday, the Parsons Livestock Auction sold 225 cattle.
Choice cows 140-150, canners- cutters 130-140, shelly cows 129 and down, bred cows up to $2,200, pairs up to $2,735; choice bulls 180-198, lower grades 179 and down.
Steers: Up to 400 pounds, 420-452; 400-500, 325-346; 500-600, 280-352; 600-700, 265-296.
Heifers: Up to 400 pounds, 340-415; 400-500, 300-356; 500-600, 285-320; 600-700, 270-282; 700-800, 230-245.
Sack sale at St. Vincent’s
St. Vincent de Paul Society will have a $3 sack sale at 1122 Main from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 15.
