Audubon to meet March 4
The Southeast Kansas Audubon Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, with a presentation by Rob Riggin, public lands manager of Grand Osage Wildlife Area, located southeast of Parsons. The area was on land formerly known as the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant before it was purchased by Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
Riggin has been working at preserving the area’s natural beauty and wildlife habitat. He will give information on what can be seen by those wishing to get out and explore this high-quality habitat and learn of the opportunities the area offers.
The meeting will take place at the Parsons Arboretum, 2004 Briggs Ave., at the corner of 21st and Briggs in Glenwood Park in Parsons. The public is invited and refreshments will be served following the program.
