The pavement marking project on three roundabouts in east and Southeast Kansas has been delayed two weeks.
The project to remove and replace the pavement markings at three roundabouts on the state highway system was to begin Monday.
On Monday, the Kansas Department of Transportation announced the work would be delayed until Monday, March 24.
The roundabouts are at the following locations: U.S.
69A and K-66 at Riverton; U.S. 160 and U.S. 59 east of Altamont; K-68 and Old Kansas City Road at Paola.
The pavement marking project will start at the Riverton roundabout, then move west to Altamont and north to Paola. The contractor expects to spend 10 to 15 days working at each roundabout, weather permitting. Flaggers will direct traffic through each work zone, with delays of no longer than 15 minutes.
Heartland Traffic Services Inc. of Kansas City, Kansas, is the primary contractor.
