
PITTSBURG — Evelyn Kay Williamson, 70, of Pittsburg passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 22, 1954, in Oswego to Carl and Doris (Swearingin) Ekhoff. She graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont. Following high school, she attended Pittsburg State University, graduating with her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education.
Evelyn was a public school teacher in Kansas and Virginia for over 30 years. After retiring, she moved to Pittsburg to be near family, friends and her much loved Pitt State.
She is survived by her four siblings, Carla (Dennis) Kirk, Larry (Judi) Ekhoff, Jim (Judy) Ekhoff and Edie (Stephen) Smith; eight nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a niece.
