Olympia F. Pierce

Olympia F. Pierce, 89, of Parsons died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at her home.

She was born May 28, 1935, at the University Hospital in Oklahoma City, a daughter of Angelo and Anna Elizabeth (Williams) Cavaletto. She was raised in Oklahoma City and attended school there. She moved to Coffeyville in the mid-1950s and lived on a farm. She moved to Erie in the early 1960s and later to Parsons in 1967 or 1968, where she worked for many years at the former Fred Ronald Manufacturing. Following that, she did personal care assistant work for many years and was employed at SKIL.

On May 30, 1981, she married James “Jim” Pierce at the Church of the Nazarene in Erie. He survives of the home.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Erie for many years before calling the Freewill Baptist Church at Parsons her home. While with the Nazarene Church, she was the president of missions and program director, as well as church treasurer. She also taught Sunday school and played the organ. She enjoyed sewing, reading and crocheting.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a stepdaughter, Diana Roper of Erie; a sister-in-law, Mildred Parker of Parsons; and a brother-in-law, David Pierce and his wife, Connie, of Olathe.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Cavaletto; and a sister, Mary Ann Cavaletto.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, at the Carson- Wall Funeral Home in Parsons with Phil Phelps officiating. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery at Erie. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Freewill Baptist Church or to defray expenses.
