ALTAMONT — Kenny Dodson will begin serving as the Wildcat District horticulture extension agent, effective Sept 16. Wildcat District has offices in Altamont, Fredonia, Girard, Independence, and Pittsburg, Kansas. Dodson’s primary office is in Altamont.
Dodson earned his bachelor’s degree in horticulture science from Kansas State University. He has most recently been employed as a seasonal worker for Hains Greenhouses, Inc. in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Horticulture agents develop and deliver educational programs related, but not limited, to horticulture crop production; marketing and economics; conservation of natural resources; horticulture waste management; and landscape maintenance and improvement.
Local extension faculty are jointly employed in a partnership between K-State Research and Extension, headquartered on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan, and the local extension board.
