Jennifer J. Woodworth

Jennifer J. Woodworth, 52, of Parsons passed away at 5:57 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Elmhaven nursing home in Parsons.

Jennifer was born on June 12, 1972, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to John and Elsie (Woodard) Bedore. She grew up in Parsons and Goodland, graduating from Goodland High School in 1991. She attended Fort Hays State University before moving to Kimberling City, Missouri, where she studied at College of the Ozarks and became a licensed practical nurse.

In 1997, she moved back to Parsons, where she graduated from Labette Community College with an associate’s degree in nursing. She later continued her education at Pittsburg State University and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center, Good Samaritan Society and Woodworth Healthcare. She became the director of nursing in 2002 for Elmhaven East and Elmhaven West, serving until 2013. While working as the director of nursing, she was also an adjunct instructor at LCC for the CNA program. She then moved to Wellsville and Plano, Texas, before moving back to Parsons.

Jennifer enjoyed working, coaching, teaching nursing students and home decorating. She adored her children and coached them on the Parsons Dolphins swim team. She loved being a nurse and taking care of people. She was truly blessed with being able to serve her patients with love and compassion. However, her greatest blessing was her children.

She married Brad Woodworth on May 13, 2000, at the First Baptist Church in Parsons. They later divorced.

She is survived by her son, Cooper Woodworth of Lawrence; her daughters, Ashleigh Woodworth and Brooklyn Woodworth, both of Olathe; her mother, Elsie Woodard and Dennis Leech of Parsons; her stepmother, Sherry Bedore of Kimberling City; her brothers, Todd Bedore and his wife, Kelly, of Parsons and Dustin Bedore and his wife, Barb, of Goodland; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her father, John Bedore; and her sister, Londa Bedore.

A celebration of Jennifer’s life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at the Wall Family Center, 26th and Main. The family suggests memorials to the Parsons Area Community Foundation or the Labette Community College Nursing Program, and these may be left at or mailed to the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 112 N. 26th St., P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS, 67357. Leave online condolences at www.wallfuneralservices.com.
