Officer Thompson responded to 80 animal-related service calls, personally handling 27 of them. Since January, a total of 530 animal calls have been recorded, with Officer Thompson managing 366. In August, he also assisted in transporting 12 dogs and 15 cats to veterinarians, contributing significantly to the health and welfare of the local animal population.
Officer Thompson responded to 50 no-action animal calls this month, bringing the year-to-date total to 339. These no-action calls are situations where intervention wasn’t necessary. Additionally, 3 animal bite incidents were reported in August, though none required his involvement.
Beyond handling calls, Officer Thompson actively supports the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, releasing 2 cats in August and 22 cats over the course of the year. He also issued 3 animal-related citations and impounded 2 vehicles, reflecting his role in enforcing local regulations.
