MCCUNE — Christine Reeve, 81, of McCune passed away at 5:52 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
Ramona Christine Reeve was born on June 17, 1943, to Royal Delbert and Martha Jewel (Miller) Reeve in Contra Costa, California. She moved with her family to Southeast Kansas, where she grew up and attended school. In 1961, she graduated from Labette County Community High School.
For many years, she was an administrator at Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.
She loved her family dearly. Christine enjoyed bowling, bingo, puzzles, arts/crafts, playing cards with her family, watching birds and horse racing. Her pride and joy was working in her yard.
Survivors include one son, Mark McElroy of McCune; two daughters, Linda Perez and Teresa Smith, both of McCune; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five brothers, Donnie Reeve of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Jerry Reeve and his wife, Nema, of Inola, Oklahoma, Robert Reeve of Chetopa, Larry Reeve and his wife, Brenda, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Randy Reeve of Chetopa; and a sister, Karen Salter of Tyler, Texas.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Le-Roy Reeve; and a sister, Kathy Axhelm.
A celebration of life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
