Kip Duane Fentress, 62, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at Pittsburg Care and Rehab.
Kip was born on Jan. 31, 1962, in Parsons to Duane “Butch” and Reba (Holm) Fentress.
Kip grew up in Altamont and was a 1980 graduate of Labette County High School.
He married Josie Larson on June 7, 1991, at their home in Altamont.
Kip worked on the sensor-fuzed weapon at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant for 16 years. He later worked at Scepter in Miami, Oklahoma.
Kip enjoyed spending time with his family. Kip’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved fishing and often enjoyed fishing trips with his brothers and nephews.
Kip and Josie lived in Grove, Oklahoma, for many years. They enjoyed spending time on Grand Lake on their boat with their kids and grandkids.
Kip is survived by his wife, Josie; a daughter, Angie Fabrycky (Eli); a son, Tyler Powell (Brooke); six grandchildren, Brielle Vandervoort, Taylor Ryan, Noah Ryan, Luke Ryan, Banks Powell, Emma Fabrycky; two brothers, an identical twin brother, Kim Fentress (Betty Jo), and his other brother, Gary Bradbury (Joan); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kip was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Fentress; and both of his parents.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life for Kip starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in the eastside lounge and bar at the Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Parsons.
