Lauren Coover began serving as the Wildcat Extension District community health worker effective Aug. 25. The Wildcat District has offices in Altamont, Fredonia, Girard, Independence and Pittsburg.
Coover earned her master’s degree in community counseling from Pittsburg State University. She was most recently employed as the Blue Cross Blue Shield Pathways grant coordinator for Labette County, and also led the Local Health Equity Action Team (LHEAT) under the COPE grant.
The Rural Ag Health Community Health Worker project focuses on sustaining the health and safety of rural Kansans and the agricultural workforce. NARVRE meeting
The National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees (NARVRE), Local Unit No. 148, will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Chinese Chef, 900 N. 16th, in Parsons.
