PITTSBURG — The Parsons Vikings took fourth place at the SEK League Girls Tennis Championships on Saturday in Pittsburg.
“I did not play for team points,” Parsons head coach Jane Posch said. “I played to set up for regionals to get to state.”
Independence won the title as a team, scoring 50 points. Chanute was runner- up with 37 points, followed by Fort Scott (35), Parsons (27), Labette County (20), Pittsburg (10) and Coffeyville (5).
Lexi Jones and Bailey Siu placed ninth and 11th, respectively, in singles for Parsons. As for the Vikings’ doubles pairings, Heidi Shultz and Laila Haviland placed fourth while Kadence Ball and Manaye Ryan placed fifth.
