The PK Art Festival took place Saturday in downtown Parsons. The event featured live music and other performances, craft booths, activities and plenty of art to view. Pictured are (clockwise from top left) Danilo Ortiz learns how to make a bowl from Labette County High School art instructor D.J. Walker. Eden Early Learning Academy of Parsons featured this interactive booth for children. Payton Sanders and Reagen Smith were among members of the Bok Bok Flock Improv group from LCHS performing improv at 18th and Main. The Flock performs at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the LCHS Black Box Theatre, which seats about 70 people. Local artist Skip Smith was answering questions about art and displayed a recent drawing. Dave and Cheryl Smith of Parsons, calling themselves the Half-Dried Up Chili Peppers, busked Saturday morning. The full group is the Dried Up Chili Peppers but the remaining group members could not attend. Ray Nolting/Sun photos
