DESHLER, Neb. — Velora M. King, 88, entered into eternal life with her Savior Jesus Christ in heaven on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, at the Thayer County Health Services, Hebron, Nebraska.
She was born on Feb. 23, 1936, in Ottawa to Raymond and Mattie (Fisher) Miskimon.
She graduated from Williamsburg High School in Williamsburg.
She married Victor Venables and they had a daughter, Victoria. They later divorced. She married Melvin King, and they later divorced.
She was a member of the Holiness Church in Altamont. She lived by God’s amazing love and grace, as her faith was an essential part of her life.
Velora was a medication aide at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center in Parsons.
Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, bingo, crossword puzzles, watching westerns, attending basketball games and, most of all, she loved spending time with her beloved family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Lehmann of Hiawatha; two grandchildren, Sha Scheuerman and her two children, Kelby and Shandi, of Osborne, and Josh Scheuerman and his daughter, Lilly Scheuerman, of Chester, Nebraska; and a brother, Donnie Miskimon, of Beaumont, Texas.
She was preceded by her parents, Raymond and Mattie; three brothers, Raymond, Ralph and Roy Miskimon; and her two sisters, Carolee Wright and Verna George.
A graveside celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Williamsburg with Pastor Jeremy Morford officiating.
