COLUMBUS — On Tuesday, Cherokee County sheriff's deputies responded to the reported theft of a four-wheeler from a storage container southwest of Columbus.
Deputies developed a suspect and went to his residence northwest of Columbus on Thursday. Upon their arrival, they discovered the suspect and another individual riding the four-wheeler.
The suspects fled westbound into a wooded area before abandoning the four-wheeler and continuing to run.
Through coordination with the Labette County Sheriff's Office, the suspects were located at a residence in Oswego, where they were arrested.
James Jameson, 27, of Columbus is being held in the Cherokee County Jail on allegations of possessing stolen property and felony interference with law enforcement.
Whitney Polk, 34, of Oswego is being held in the Cherokee County Jail on an allegation of felony interference with law enforcement.
