PUBLIC MIND
To The Sun:
Recently, my wife was in great pain and believed she was experiencing a heart attack. We arrived at Labette Health around midnight. The staff attended to her immediately. They dispatched their treatment courteously, promptly, thoroughly and professionally. The physician, nurse, lab tech and radiology tech all displayed these qualities. The physician was very thorough in explaining what was happening, why it was being done and what she was looking for. We could not have been more pleased with the care we received.
I have also been a patient at Labette three times in the past. My experiences were the same as what we received recently. I have been in emergency rooms in Oklahoma City, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Charlottesville, Virginia. None of those experiences were competitive with what we experienced here in Parsons. Each of these involved hours of unattended care in the waiting room. I have never waited long at Labette.
Senior citizens, like us, tend to choose a retirement location where we believe medical care will be the best and most accessible. Most seniors seem to assume the best care is in urban areas. Our experience is the best care is here. — STAN BASLER, rural Galesburg
