Former Parsons woman waives hearing in involuntary manslaughter case

PITTSBURG — A former Parsons woman has waived her right to a preliminary hearing in a case alleging involuntary manslaughter of her infant daughter.

Johnna Lynn Autem-Strathe, 42, is charged in Crawford County District Court with involuntary manslaughter (reckless), aggravated endangering a child. The complaint alleges that Autem-Strathe recklessly killed a human being on Feb. 16. She also placed that infant in a situation where the child’s life, body or health was endangered.

Her daughter died at age 3 months on Friday, Feb. 16, in Pittsburg.

Autem-Strathe waived her right to a preliminary hearing in August. She is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 5 for arraignment or a plea.

She remains jailed without bond.
