Below are the events for next week at the Parsons Public Library.
MONDAY: 4 p.m., LEGO Club for ages 15 and under; 6 p.m., “The Midnight Library” book discussion.
TUESDAY: 10 a.m., sensory story hour for ages birth to 3, “Miss Ellie’s Day at the Pumpkin Patch” by Alana Larson Evans; 4 p.m., Anime Club for ages 10 to 18.
WEDNESDAY: 10 a.m. story hour for ages 2 to 6, “Have You Seen My Acorn?” by D.K. Ryland; 4 p.m., story hour, “The Acorn Thief” by Melissa Thomas.
THURSDAY: 1 p.m., coloring group for adults and teens; 4 p.m., Minecraft for teens.
FRIDAY, Nov. 8: 4 p.m., Switch free play for teens.
Fundraiser for tumbling
Parsons Tumbling and Trampoline will have a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Forest Park in Parsons.
The day will feature bounce houses, face painting, games, food trucks, vendors and a tumbling showcase.
Turkey and noodles
The Parsons Lions Club will have its annual turkey and noodle dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in the Parsons Municipal Building basement. The cost is by donation. The menu will be turkey and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll and a drink. Proceeds help Lions projects.
Deer management workshop
INDEPENDENCE — A white-tailed deer biology and management workshop that will focus on white-tailed deer biology, habitat management, supplemental feeding, population management and disease will start at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Wildcat Extension District office in Independence.
The featured speaker will be Drew Rickets, K-State Research and Extension wildlife specialist.
The meeting is free. To facilitate planning, RSVPs are encouraged. Please RSVP by Nov. 12 by calling the Wildcat District office in Independence at 620-331-2690.

Parsons Livestock Auction
On Wednesday, the Parsons Livestock Auction sold 850 cattle.
Choice cows 120-131, canners-cutters 110-119, shelly cows 109 and down, bred cows up to $2,300, pairs up to $3,050; choice bulls 157-164.50, lower grades 156 and down.
Steers: Up to 400 pounds, 275-375; 400-500, 280-341; 500600, 250-307; 600-700, 225-267.50; 700-800, 220-248; 800 and over, 210-242.
Heifers: Up to 400 pounds, 235-303; 400-500, 230-286; 500600, 230-268; 600-700, 217-238; 700-800, 197-229; 800 and over, 180-225.
