PITTSBURG — The PSU Wind Ensemble and the Pittsburg Community Band will perform in a collaborative concert today (Tuesday) in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts at Pittsburg State University.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. with the Wind Ensemble, comprised of student musicians from across campus chosen by audition. It will feature classical and contemporary tunes performed under the direction of Associate Professor Andrew Chybowski.
Celebrate folk songs and “musical wildflowers” including the masterpiece “Lincolnshire Posy” by Percy Aldridge Grainger.
Following their performance, the Pittsburg Community Band — a group open to all ages and musical abilities and organized by both Chybowski and Cooper Neil, Pittsburg High School band director — will perform.
