The Parsons Chapter of Moms Demand Action did not hold a regular meeting in November. Instead, nine of its volunteers participated in QPR (question, persuade, refer) suicide prevention training on Nov. 18, led by licensed instructor Mandy Monroy.
In a recent report submitted to the Labette Family Coalition, of which they are members, the training was noted along with recent tabling events they participated in. It was reported that at their fall tabling events, they have distributed 220 gun locks to individuals who own firearms that were not locked. It was also reported that they continue to support the Save Our Sons outreach program through a monthly meal. Three of their leaders attended a leadership retreat in Topeka on Nov. 23. It was decided that they would not meet over the holidays.
