Gayle Gene Schickel, 76, of Parsons, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, at the University of Kansas Hospital. Gayle was born to Gene and Mary (Thurston) Schickel on November 2, 1948.
Gayle grew up and attended schools in Parsons and graduated from Parsons Senior High School in 1966. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Fuller, and his wife, Gretta of Shawnee, Kansas, and her grandchildren, Meghan and Gabriel Fuller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Mary Schickel.
Gayle was most proud of her father, Gene, who coached the Parsons Junior College (LCC) men’s basketball team to a victory in the 1959-60 National Championship. Mary and Gayle never missed a game.
Cremation has taken place, and it was Gayle’s wish that there be no memorial service.
